  • Facilitate learning in large, non-traditional classrooms, coordinating and troubleshooting special projects with over 50 students weekly. Support students in navigating resources and making progress on a variety of assignments, such as digital workflows, data management, editing, resulting in more students completing their work and passing the class. Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with students, staff, and administration.

    Courses Taught

    ▪ Digital Imaging Technician and On Set Post Production – Students learn the responsibilities of a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) and gain experience working on-set for advanced productions. As a member of the Camera Department, students will practice the critical role of interfacing between the production and post teams. They learn DaVinci Resolve, and Arri Alexa, Red, and Sony Camera Systems.

    ▪ Editing 1 – Students develop the basic non-linear editing skills needed to tell stories effectively through screenings, practical hands-on assignments, using NLE editing software, readings, and lectures.

    ▪ Editing 1 Studio – Students develop basic skill in the use of a Adobe Premiere in completing the Editing I course exercises, as well as investigating current technical developments and digital workflow concepts.

    ▪ Editing 2 Studio – Students continue to develop the necessary skills to become professional editors. Editing projects are increasingly more complex, concluding with finishing a short film. Communication and collaboration are emphasized. Students use Avid Media Composer and receive ongoing critiques of their work to determine their proficiency of craft and creativity.

    ▪ Digital Workflow: Data Wrangler Lab – Students learn workflow management for the RED Camera System.

    Key Accomplishments:

    ▪ Design digital workflows for advanced projects so students can work safely on set or remotely.
    ▪ Develop in class, hands on tutorials teaching editing techniques such as project setup, syncing, trimming, sound design, coloring, and delivery.
    ▪ Mentor students as they learn the role of DIT, from building the cart to processing dailies for editorial.

  • Lead daily operations of post-production facilities, ensuring timely delivery and quality of student productions, which includes overseeing digital editing, preparing resources for the post production curriculum, maintain network workspaces, developing advanced workflows to support digital media archiving, and supervising 10-15 staff members.

    Key Accomplishments:

    ▪ Develop and maintain the Post Production wiki page.
    ▪ Enhance student learning by providing engaging training workshops on non-linear editing, data management, and digital workflows.
    ▪ Coordinate the production and post production of the yearly video cover letter initiative for graduating students.
